Teresa Andreoli

greenTeresa Andreoli is connected.

She has been professionally tracking trends in retailing and merchandising for more than a decade. From her start as editorial assistant at STORES magazine, to a three-year workout as associate editor at Discount Store News, to six years building License! Magazine from scratch, Teresa has developed a rich database of industry resources. Today she is freelance editor for Licensing Scope, a new, how-to guide for cross-merchandising licensed products.

Teresa’s shining achievements include being part of the editorial team that launched License! Magazine in 1998, a start-up that almost instantly became the market leader. Through interviews with licensees, licensors, retailers and agents, proprietary research, third-party research and internet data, Teresa continuously helped compile for License! industry statistics unavailable elsewhere. Her contributions helped License! win the Jesse H. Neal Award (the Oscars of business journalism) for the October 2000 Industry Annual Report issue.

At License!, Teresa covered merchandising strategies of properties rooted in fashion, home, entertainment, corporate trademarks, art and publishing. She also tracked product categories such as apparel, accessories, footwear, soft home, tabletop, housewares, furniture, books, greeting cards and gifts. In addition, she worked concurrently as the editor of The Art of Licensing, License! magazine’s quarterly supplement devoted to licensing needs of artists.

Teresa can be spotted at merchandise shows in the US and Europe, most LIMA functions, and on panels at educational sessions held at Licensing International. More often, she is roaming the aisles of stores of all sizes, examining licensed merchandise displays and eavesdropping on shoppers’ reactions. Teresa works from her home office in Hoboken, NJ, a five-mile stretch across the Hudson River from mid-town Manhattan.
